EMMIE isn’t a typical master program.

The program is enriched with in-depth theory on key business concepts, a whole semester dedicated to sustainability, sustainabile innovation and technology management, market research, and entrepreneurship.

When you're immersed in learning and find the process fascinating, time seems to fly by. That's exactly what happened during my 18-month Master's degree journey.

For many years, I have dreamed of transitioning into the field of sustainability in Colombia, especially in the post-pandemic era where resources are limited and companies focus more on short-term priorities.
During my search for a program abroad, I discovered the EMMIE: Erasmus Mundus Master in Impact Entrepreneurship, a multi-country MBA that allows students to study in Croatia, Lithuania, and Belgium while learning to build profitable businesses with social and environmental impact.
Despite my doubts, I applied and was selected among 1,200 applicants. The program has allowed me to connect with diverse cultures, expand my global network, and be inspired by my classmates’ impactful projects.

Looking back, I am glad to say that leaving diplomacy to join EMMIE was the right choice for me for several reasons, some of which I would like to share, just in case someone needs an extra push of taking that important step toward their dream of becoming an impact entrepreneur, or as we like to call ourselves, an EMMIE.

For some time, I have been searching for opportunities that would help me grow professionally and better understand the world and my place in it. I’ve realized that while you cannot change who you are, you can nurture the values that drive you — in my case, the desire to make a positive impact.
When I heard about the EMMIE: Erasmus Mundus Master in Impact Entrepreneurship, I applied and was accepted, which still feels unreal. I’m deeply grateful to the EMMIE team for believing in me and my project. This opportunity represents a major milestone in my life, and I am excited to make the most of it.

Irrefutably, EMMIE is an exciting journey. You get to study and travel across some of the best business schools in Europe. Additionally, you get to actualize your ideas and realize your dream of providing an impact-based solution to a stakeholder dear to you. Most importantly, you are granted access to other entrepreneurs going on this adventure with you.

Definitely, the EMMIE: Erasmus Mundus Master in Impact Entrepreneurship is more than an academic program… it is a true cultural exchange.
When I was selected for EMMIE , I had no idea how transformative this journey would be. Stepping into Croatia, where innovation is part of the culture, has been life-changing. As an architect without a financial background, I’m deeply grateful to the incredible team and professors at Zagreb School of Economics and Management for guiding me through this first chapter in “General Management”

Over time, this place has become more than just a destination….it feels like home. And no, it’s not just because of the similarities in our flags.
